I'm With Her

Michelle Obama made a wonderful speech for Hillary Clinton last night. She spoke eloquently about raising her daughters during this important time and uniting for change. This passage perfectly sums up how far we've come:

I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves. And I watch my daughters, two beautiful, intelligent, black young women, playing with their dogs on the White House lawn. And because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters and all our sons and daughters now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States.

With all the crazy noise going on this year, it's hard to hear the quiet change that's happening underneath us. Tonight marks the first time a woman is nominated for President. Finally, after months of terrible news, it seems that the people are feeling a bit of hope that something is going to be done and it's going to be done through optimism and love. Change is already happening.
